Many of us dream of becoming programmers and hackers, most of us give up in the process of pursuing it, and some take the lead by starting from scratch and become what they wanted to by giving their full to it.
Today we have Jay Kumar Ryan from Oxford college of Engineering, a programmer, a developer, and a certified ethical hacker.
Let’s have a chit chat,

1. Please give us a brief introduction about you.

Jay kumar ryan

Hi, My name is Jay Kumar Ryan I’m 19, and I love to program. I’m fluent in about five programming languages. Thousands of people visit my website every day from all over the country.
I’m currently pursuing computer science engineering at Oxford college of Engineering. Prior to my engineering, I studied at Shams High School, where I was an academically strong student and won several scholarships and awards. I completed my PU at Vijaya College Jayanagar.
I really enjoy learning, to me learning is essential, and I find it as essential as eating, Either you learn or die pretty miserable without eating.
I have been born and brought up in Bengaluru, My father is a Real Estate business man, who has always inspired and motivated me to work hard and chase my dreams, and my mother is a homemaker.

2. Everybody knows about what do you do. And what do you like most. Why “Hacking” became your passion?

Hacker is the one who is commonly writing codes to solve problems. People currently call me as a Hacker. Introduce to their friends as a Hacker. By default, people know me as a hacker.
Initially, I loved programming languages I was fascinated by how those single command or the code(Program) tells a computer to do exactly the program guides.
Well, I got two passions, and one of them is to become an Ethical Hacker. Currently, its career that priority but still I make time for learning, blogging, building websites coding and doing stuff I love. And after I settle down in my career I can focus more on my other passion. It’s all about making time for what you really want and love to do. No excuses.

The pyramid of becoming life will always have the segregated class of economic earners, no matter how sound the economy.
Therefore, when it comes to fulfilling our passions, first and foremost, it must be tailored to our own reality. Which enables one to enjoy every moment of the experiencing. The goal must be within the range of realizable ends; else disappointment would ensue.

3. What are your parents take on this? I’m asking because most of the parents go with traditional squirting of education and jobs?

My parents never stopped me from following my dreams; they never told me to be an engineer or a doctor and they’ve been proud of me all the way.
Yes, I’ve messed up a lot in between. Yes, there have been times when I haven’t been the ideal son. Yes, there were times when I had been distracted from my goals. But somehow I’ve pulled through. I don’t think I’d have done so if it weren’t for them.
Pursing my childhood dreams, achieving little little targets in life, being kind and humble to people around me, following the morals and ethics that they have instilled in me since childhood and most of all, being a good human being – I think these are the things which make my parents really happy and proud of their son!

4. Which is your favorite programming language? Why do you like it?

Today, one should not have one single favorite programming language. We are going through a phase of programming language renaissance where we have a number of excellent programming languages being developed and used. My favorite programming language depends on the problem domain that I would like to solve.
Picking favorites is hard, especially when you’re asked to choose from a list of things where many of the possible choices have different purposes. That being said, I play the favorites game all the time. Including now.
I don’t have a single favorite, but here are a few languages to which I’m partial.
I’ll always pick Ruby. Why? Ruby’s primary design principle is not to be performant as (C, C++), or to run everywhere (Java), or to be noob friendly (PHP, Python), but to increase developer happiness. No, I’m not kidding. Ruby is excellent but still underestimated.
I hope to see Ruby help every programmer in the world to be productive, and to enjoy programming, and to be happy. That is the primary purpose of Ruby language.

5. You are also running a blog, how do you manage your time with studies?

It is a frequent question asked by every student.
But you can do it if you will follow your interest. while studying, if you are writing what you like, then it will come in your work in both ways. That may be your course related or may be any thing extra curricular.
Blogging along with study together is not a hard task.
Blogging requires 1–2 hours daily of your time, which I think any student can give as blogging helps us in many ways like improving our writing skills as well as creative skills and you also get some knowledge about web designing and promotion of blogs.
So all in all its a good idea to start blogging even though you are studying.
I and some of my friends have also made a blog, or you may call it as a website in which we are focusing on providing free and valuable notes regarding “how to’s,” Technical knowledge and also some latest updates of Hacking.
My suggestion would be Complete your studies first, blog only if you get extra time. Education is essential; it’s not only about making money.

6. When did you first started to learn to program? Which courses helped you most?

In 7th standard, I came across my first ‘real’ programming language – C Programming. Variables, loops, I/O, graphics. I spent quite a long time exploring it. Our school book contained only rudimentary programs, demonstrating the concepts. I was super excited when I made my first program using complex switch case logic and random numbers trying to simulate a simple game.
I also went to programming classes in 10th grade. I learned c,c++, Java in summer holiday of 10th grade which helped me a lot, I thank my teacher Shridhar sir from NTTF and Rajendra Prasad Sir from PES Who guided me and taught me programming.
Later on, I went on reading how BASIC has played a crucial role in the software revolution, and how at a time, many production software was written using it. I took many programming courses just by watching videos and doing it myself. The best programming language I learned online was python.
I went to college to study CS. I have again come across C, Java, and a few other programming languages. C programming is like my first love in the journey that Computer Science has taken me to. Unforgettable !
I also did CEH (Certified Ethical Hacking) course along with my engineering. Which landed me here.

7. Are you going to take this passion professionally and pursue it?

Maybe I’m not sure; I want to do physics. It fascinates me. I have been able to overcome the fear of there not being enough in that field to support me financially (in India, at least) but then I face the next challenge.
I want to be good at physics.
But I doubt that I ever can be good enough, and that idea is kind of scaring me right now.
However, I haven’t let this hold me back completely yet since I’m still in UG and maybe by the time I finish UG, I’ll be able to understand that I’ll never know if I can be good enough if I don’t give it a try.
I honestly believe in that There is only one path to success – and that is the path of passion! I think one of the biggest challenges people face in pursuing their passion is them listening to other people’s negativity or telling you that it’s not a good idea or it will never happen.
Most of us need a paycheck to survive. Most passions do not pay well, if at all. Most professions pay far better.

8. What do you suggest for newbies who want to become white hats and become professional ethical hackers?

The best suggestion is to start hacking. Start hacking anything and everything on your way. To ensure that you can hack ethically, create your own lab to learn some hacking skills. Install various operating system and hack endlessly. Take some online courses that will introduce you to hacking. Some can
Go ahead and ask your organization or school if you can test their systems and report to them any bugs you find. Learn about the various steps a penetration tester would take. This would involve reconnaissance all the way to exploitation as described in a Certified Ethical Hacker course. Go ahead and attain the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or CEH certification and that will show you some practical hacking skills.
While it will take time for you to master your hacking skills, that does not mean you can’t start cashing on them as you learn. While you might not reach the levels of Kevin Mitnick or Jonathan James you can provide consulting to very many organizations that have left their systems open to hackers.
Study and do practicals of hacking in deep.
Get certified from EC-Council or CEH
Learn from Cybrary – Free Online Cyber Security Training, Forever | Learn and Find Jobs
Always download good books and pdfs.
Try offensive security certification. For good hacking and PEN-testing.

9. Any insights on the present education system and how this can be improved?

Education has been a problem in our country, and hundreds of colleges and private universities to mushroom is not going to solve the crisis of education in India. Now a days colleges and education are meant for business. They are in the mindless rat race to grow their business, and millions of students are the victim of an unrealistic, pointless, mind numbing competition.
As said VTU is one of those. I have successfully hacked VTU more than twice. Anyone can change your grades or mine, and they don’t even have an idea of those who do evil things.
VTU should start securing their systems The only solution is using linux instead of windows.

10. Any suggestions for VTUsouls?

Today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth. I have been in ballparks for nineteen years and have never received anything but kindness and encouragement.
I am honored to be with you today at VTU souls from one of the finest websites Where VTU students get accurate and latest news regarding VTU; I never had a talk like this before. Truth be told, this is the closest I’ve ever gotten.

I thank Shravan Kumar for featuring me in VTU talents list, VTUsouls has been doing great work and helping many confused VTU Students providing them accurate results and real news. I really like the concept of VTUsouls introduced and came in handy at the difficult situation. Keep up the great work Sharvan Kumar.

Howdy VTU souls!

We have got a confirmation that year back system, as well as critical year back system, is canceled for 2010 scheme or also known as non-CBCS scheme.

As we spoke to registrar Jagannath Reddy yesterday, he explained us regarding the same as following.

Despite of having any number of backlogs and critical backlogs, we are allowing all 2010 scheme students or non-CBCS students to enter 7th sem if he is waiting to get eligibility.

And we will conduct exams for them in vacations and upcoming exam will be of examination for backlogs.

They will be allowed to write exams of the 7th semester only after they get eligibility.

But again we are allowing students to enter 8th semester and clear their project works even if they fail in next eligibility exams so that all students can clear their final year works.

So this is going to give a big relief to more than 19,000 students and non-CBCS students are extremely happy with this decision made by VTU.

But as of now, CBCS students are left behind, and no solution or relief has been given for CBCS students yet, but the VTU students struggle committee as well as AIDSO considered to look at the problems of CBCS students and yet to decide on the same.

FAQ’s:

  1. When am I going to write 7th semester exams?

You will not be allowed to write 7th-semester exams until you get eligibility. You are going to attend classes as usual and write backlogs exam in next upcoming exams. If you get eligibility, then you will be allowed to write 7th-semester exams in vacations.

  1. What if I don’t get eligibility in this upcoming exams?

No worries, you will still be allowed to enter 8th semester despite of backlogs and even if you don’t get eligibility.

  1. Is this a crash course?

No, it isn’t. It’s a complete carry over with one single condition that you should be eligible to write exams, but you can attend classes with no restriction.

  1. How many students are benefited?

Over 19,000 students are going to get benefited.

  1. Can I attend classes?

You can attend claases with no restrictions, doesn’t matter how many backlogs you have.

Applicability:

1. It is applicable to you if you are still in 2010 scheme.
.
.
2. It is applicable to you if you joined engineering before 2015. Ie., you should have completed both 1st and 2nd year in Non CBCS only.
.
.
3. It is not applicable to you if you got year back in 1st year and you joined engineering in 2014.
.
.
4. It is applicable to you if you got yearback in second year, and you joined engineering in 2014.
.
.
5. All those who wrote crash course will be eligible for this. And they go to final year.
.
.
6. All those who didn’t write crash course and didn’t get eligibility also get benefited, but they will go to third year.

Stay tuned and we are bringing more updates.

VTU exit scheme how to register

$
0
0

Most of us are having confusion regarding the VTU’s new EXIT scheme and a lot of students are asking us to write on a brief post regarding this. So here you go, guys.

What is E-stamp and where do we get it?

Don’t worry on this, there are many places who are doing this for full-time and Mini Vidhana Soudha in Yelahanka NES, is one such place. You need not to do anything but 350 rupees, they have all formats and everything ready with them, just pay 350 rupees and they will get it done including Notary signature from a lawyer.

Doubts regarding VTU EXIT scheme:

  1. How does an affidavit look like?

2. Should I submit an affidavit if my results are not announced?

Yes, you should!

The last date to submit affidavit is 21st and make sure you submit it even if your results aren’t announced. If your results are announced, you didn’t get eligibility, you will proceed with EXIT scheme and if you got eligibility, you will be sent to normal scheme and your fee of 2500 will be refunded.

3. How much is the fee for VTU EXIT scheme?

You have to pay 500 per semester. This doesn’t mean if you are supposed to pay 500 for each and every semester in which you have a backlog, for example, if you are now going to 7th semester, then you re supposed to pay 500 now and 500 again in 8th semester even if you have backlogs from the previous semesters.

4. When is last date to submit affidavit?

September 27th is the last date.

On a note, if you haven’t paid college fee do pay it in or before 21st. Tell them you’re from ONE TIME EXIT scheme and pay it.
Next, you need to pay ₹500. It’s like if you’ve backlog in 3rd Sem n 4th Sem you need not to pay 1k. It’s ₹500 for one full semester which you are going to register.
3rd Sem *500
4th Sem * 500 If you are going to 3rd and 4th sem with backlogs of 1st and 2nd semester, you need not to pay for backlogs of 1st and 2nd semester.
Dip math is not included because it can be cleared within course time.

Scenario 1:

What now if I’ve already paid the fee for ONE TIME EXIT Scheme but I’m eligible after results or revaluation results.?
And Write a letter n submit in the examination department of your college office they’ll find it out from board and refund it back once they send (if they send)
Now you’ll be considered as a regular student & you can regularly write exams. You’ll be complete outta One-time exit scheme.

What if I’ve already paid college fee.?

Write a letter requesting them to transfer your fee to one-time exit scheme n submit it. Pay 5K and come.

Scenario:2
Else,
In upcoming Dec 2017 exam, you need clear your eligibility criteria & then write 7th Sem
Exam in the month of March/April.

Scenario

What if you don’t get eligibility .?

Ans:
U can attend even Sem classes, write your internal assessment, do your project work, complete your seminar but Your MARKS WILL NOT BE REPORTED TO UNIVERSITY until n unless you gain eligibility.
You cannot attend project exam if u haven’t gained eligibility.

Next this something called course completion period for REGULAR engineering students it’s 8 years & for LATERAL ENTRY it’s 6 years from YEAR OF ADMISSION else you’ll be given NFTC ( Non-Fit for Technical Course)

PLEASE DO IT ON or BEFORE 27 SEP 2017

If you have any doubts comment below, I will resolve it.

UPDATED ON 30/09/2017 12:25 AM

As AIDSO could gather from the Respected registrar of VTU, Mr. Jagannath Reddy, the nonCBCS students have been awarded the cancellation of the year back and a critical year back with some conditions.

Check below to know how to register for VTU EXIT scheme.

REGISTER FOR VTU EXIT SCHEME.

Around 19,500 students are expected to benefit from this decision.
While breaking this happy news we also are unhappy to say that CBCS students are given no relief! Meaning they are not spared from the cruel year back and critical year system.
We would like to congratulate the students on this historic victory and thank the vice-chancellor, registrar and executive council for this pro students decision. Even while thanking the Vtu authority, AIDSO earnestly appeals to vice chancellor to reconsider the decision about cbcs students and provide at least temporary succor to them.

Some conditions are applied and all conditions are given in below link.

Check all conditions here:

Check conditions!

Update: Today ie., on 4th September 2017 students have met the board of studies members in Bangalore and explained their problems and demands.
Everyone of them understood the problem and responded very well as per the students. They assured that they will stand by students and outcome will be in students favor. Most of them appreciated our student movement and definitely, they will speak for the welfare of students.
And one important thing is, the board of studies meeting is postponed from September 5th to September 8th, as many of the members asked to postpone the meeting due to their busy schedule.
Students have met those who are in Bangalore, and other members will be covered by volunteers in next few days.

Protests are conducted in 28 districts of Karnataka and more than 170 colleges had shut down completely today participating in the bundh volunteering.

Some 20 and 30 colleges are partially supported.
As per the latest reports attendance is reduced to 80% today overall.

What is the outcome of VTU protests?
As we all know there was a principal meeting in Belgaum due to our protests from past one and half month. The outcome was in pending phase as there are several protocols to follow before issuing circular.
The outcome was POSITIVE and we wanted to push the movement to further for the fulfillment of every demand.
While doing the protest itself, we got the call from VTU authorities and they asked 8 days of time.
I know, you guys might suspect that they are simply buying time to suppress the movement.
But no, they can’t do it.
Trust me, the outcome was POSITIVE and we took the extreme step of bundh of all colleges to put pressure again.
And now there is a lot of pressure on VTU.
Calls are made from the higher education department, DCP, ACP, and education minister to sort out the issue ASAP.
So as per their request and as we already got the positive outcome, let us allow 8 days of time for them. 🙂

Are students going to stop all protests?
Nope, students will mobilize each and every other student from every engineering college in this time. They will do campaigning.
Students are sure that the outcome will be positive for sure after 8 days. 🙂
If not, students will proceed and do Jail burrow and the extreme step of movement will happen.
All engineering students who supposed to go to classes may have to go to jail and this isn’t good for our university’s reputation.

The issue has been telecasted from each and every news channel from morning to evening and even at 10:00 PM all news channels telecasted.
Thank you Public tv, tv9, suddi tv, Praja tv, Digvijaya tv, Samaya and other channels.

Memorandum will be submitted shortly by student organizations and students are expected to stay calm during the process as it takes a lot of time as exams are still going on, once exams are finished the issue will be looked by VTU.

A lot of students are having doubts regarding VTU’s year back system as well as VTU crash course which was introduced last year. Many people are approaching us to do something regarding this and most common queries are,

  • Is year back system going to get cancelled this time?
  • Is VTU going to continue crash course this year also?
  • Is VTU ready to give the crash course for students?

Well as of now, nope. It’s not cancelled yet and we are trying hard to do what we can in order to remove the year back system. Following is the petition which we have created in order to explain the issues to VTU, and we have not received any kind of updates from VTU yet regarding this yet. AIDSO is planning to organize the meet soon and students are expected to call the mentioned number and explain the issues.

PETITION CONTENT:

Cancel year back system for all scheme and all batch of students for the academic year 2017.
As we all know, the central government tax ride on VTU resulted in an enormous financial burden for VTU and also it was speculated by national newspapers and Media’s that the VTU is at the edge of shutting down due to bankruptcy and economic breakdown.
The outcome affected around two and a half lakh engineering students whose results supposed to be announced in the month of February was delayed by almost six months, and even after the delay, some results were withheld and partial results for all semester results were announced only in July beginning.
But the chaos didn’t stop here, and VTU suddenly issued the timetable and expected students to write exams without announcing revaluation results. Only after students protests and media’s pressure VTU postponed examination for the duration of one week and final year students revaluation results have been fully announced just before the day of final year exams.
How can students study for exams without getting revaluation results?
The irony is, this continued for rest of the semesters and VTU Announced the other revaluation results just before the night of exams. That also results were uploaded in pdf files instead of updating in the database which created a huge mess in students and here also most of the student’s revaluation results were missing or withheld, and yes they wrote exams without even knowing their revaluation results.
Due to all these mess and chaos, we, students are indeed affected mentally, and we are not in a situation to bear all these irregularities anymore from University.
Even with an ample amount of time, it is not possible to score good marks in Engineering due to the vast syllabus and strict evaluation by VTU.
How can they expect us to study it announcing revaluation results just before the night of examination?
There are also reports and proofs which show that VTU didn’t evaluate answer scripts in revaluation and issued zero for some students who were expecting more than 80 marks. Still, many students aren’t able to check their results and most the photocopies applied by students are not sent to their emails.
All these issues are literally torturing students, and we are on the verge of giving up hope.
The crash course which was introduced to final year, third year as well as second-year students to save them from year back scheme six months back actually caused more trouble than any good.
All crash course students are now writing more than 16 subjects plus previous backlogs in a duration of just two months.
Most of the colleges didn’t follow the VTU guidelines, and no classes were taken. And they are supposed to write odd semester examination in study holidays for regular students and even semester examinations with regular students. So that will be eight subjects from odd semester plus eight subjects from the even semester as well as previous backlogs.
How is it possible to clear more than 16 subjects in a single attempt?
Even after the announcement of results still, there are hundreds of students whose results are still withheld. Nobody knows why their results are withheld even after seven months of examination.
Three are no guidelines regarding this anywhere on what to follow if results are withheld and missing. Some students results are shown as absent even though they have attended all the examinations.

And when it comes to the yearback system of VTU, which is one of the most cruel punishment for students to sit in home for one year. This leads to depression and mental torture from society. No students and lecturers are in favour of this system.
Since we are the only batch studying in old 2010 scheme and we are hopefully wishing to finish engineering in the same scheme without shifting to CBCS system, and since all these issues bothered students a lot, now we are expecting VTU to take following actions.
Considering all these irregularities as well as chaos, we students of VTU hoping VTU to
1. Cancel year back system for both crash course students as well as regular students for the academic year 2017.
2. Permit students to attend the classes for those who failed in critical subjects as we are the last batch to study to 2010 scheme.
3. Cancel year back system for CBCS students of 2017 batch.

Thank you.

As per the latest updates from university, it is published in Vijayavani news paper that the results announcement will begin from today itself. The same information source has been mentioned below.

students can expect the all semester results by end of this week.

Students can expect the crash course in next week for sure and we are constantly trying to get updates from VTU officials, but nobody seems to have any precise information related to the crash course results.

Students are requested to attend classes by taking permission from respective branch hods or college principals.

VTU crash course results will be announced soon as students opted for the crash course are waiting to get eligibility for the crash course. As VTU quoted earlier that the bundles of answer sheets of the year back and a critical year back students should be separated and shouldn’t be sent to scanning centres, we assume answer scripts shall be corrected manually and results will be announced with first priority.
Results will be announced within a week or two for crash course students. We will update it soon once we receive the precise date.

Update: As per the latest developments, a few days back VTU registrar announced that the crash course results will be announced this week while doing press meet with Vijayavani reporter. The same can be found below.

Vtu crash course results

So we are expecting results to be announced in next week.  Crash course students are requested to wait few more days to get their results. And VTU crash course results are expected to be announced this week.

The continuous delaying of results has kept thousands of students career at risk as final semester students are supposed to involve in project activities.

We do understand the problem of students and VTU seems like not worried for these students and delaying results even though the valuation process has been over. We suspect something is wrong inside the university.

The valuation process has been over for crash course students two weeks back, and yes it was done manually.

Still many confusions are there in students because of wide-spread rumors, let me clear them all in this post 🙂
Well, most of you guys must be attending the crash course classes, but we have received a lot of messages from students stating that classes are not started yet and college authorities are not worried about year back students.
So if this is the case, now you guys gotta act real quick cause VTU has sent a notification to all colleges quoting the last date to submit the list of students who are appearing for the crash course is on 22nd January 2017.

Here is the copy of the notification.

VTU crash course results
So if your college has not started the classes and you have not submitted the affidavit yet, please do make it quick and time is running out.

Fee structure of VTU crash course:

When it comes to the fee structure of crash course, many students complained, college is asking for full fee and some said colleges collecting around 20k, as VTU mentioned clearly that fees shall be collected only after getting eligibility, this move by Engineering colleges is not bearable and also no need to worry as fee which you have paid now will be added to the total fee once you are eligible for crash course, if you are unable to get eligibility, then the same shall be added to next academic year. Make sure you get a written letter from college if you have paid the fee.

A lot of students are also worried about the exams, most of you are misguided by many rumors that exams will be conducted on June-July with regular even semester subjects, but that is not true. Because exams will be shortly conducted after VTU crash course.

So stay tuned with VTUSOULS and we will update you as soon as we receive other info regarding same.
Keep an eye on VTU results post for regular subject results as we will update the dates soon.

Have a good day!

Results are updated for final year students, those who were getting invalid USN can see their results now. 5th and 6th-semester VTU results also updated and those who were getting invalid USN can check their results now. Technical errors are rectified. We will update once we come to know any results update data.

Outdated updates: There were some rumors that the results of 6th-semester examinations will be announced on 27/08/2017, but that was a fake news and we want to assure students not to believe these. In case of any updates, we shall let you know beforehand. As vice chancellor promised, all results will be declared in next few days.

When we met Vice chancellor two days back, he informed that all results announcement will be wrapped up by end of next week. And delay in crash course results is due to the mix up of answer scripts of bar codes and non-bar code answer scripts.

As we predicted earlier, CBCS results are started to announce before non-CBCS scheme and all region results of 1st and the 2nd-semester CBCS results are announced now. We are getting updates that the valuations of all semesters of both CBCS and Non-CBCS scheme have been over and we can expect the announcement of CBCS results first and then non-CBCS results of 6th and 5th semester. And as per the inside source information, valuation of both CBCS and non-CBCS of 3r the and the 4th semester is still going on as of now ie., 14/08/2017.

Crash course results of 7th and 8th semester should have been announced by now, but due to the technical error and glitches, delay of results is continued just like previous time. We can expect the results for VTU 7th and 8th-semester crash course results this week.

When the media contact VTU registrar Satish Annigeri, he said that results for all branches of the final semester will be announced on July 31st, as well as other semester results will be announced before August 8th which became a false promise to students.

Many websites are speculating that results will be announced on 25/07/2017, but as we said it didn’t and results are going to be announced in next 2-3 days. Students are expected to be patient and not to believe rumors.

June / July 2017 Examination Results of VIII Sem B.E. (Non – CBCS) of Civil & Mechanical Branch of all regions are announced.

Other branch results, as well as 6th and7th-semester VTU results, will be announced shortly after the announcement of the 8th-semester results.

All semester results dates will be made available shortly in below table. Please have a look.

VTU students involved in tampering high court writ petition

Recently many students went to high court to apply for write petition seeking the admission to one-time exit scheme, these students are mainly from 2014 scheme and also 2015 scheme. Though court allowed most of these students via interim order and issued a notification to colleges favouring students. But a few days back it has been identified that some students are involved in manipulating and tampering the court order by adding names of students who weren’t part of the writ petition.

Though it is yet be known that who did it and how many are involved, its certain that high court ordered to find out who did it and also gave notice to students who are suspected.

The news has recently published in some print Medias and went viral on many social platforms.

How did they found out?

In the tampered interim order copy, the date is shown as October 29, and as the day was Saturday and obviously holiday for the court, it raised eyebrows of officials and there was no session held that day as well. And some students even approached court regarding this.

So now high court took the issue very seriously and ordered registrar to find out the students who are involved in this.

Current growth in education sector

$

India, the second most populated country in the world, what can be expected about its education sector, or at least about the number of people going to related to the education industry in some way. And, yes unsurprisingly it is the largest. If we try to look into the reasons as to why is that the case, it’s mostly because of the sheer population of the young people in India, the age group that requires or can provide education. Well, this is definitely the biggest reason but this can’t be the only reason for such a growth.

engineering education trends

There are many examples where the numbers have doubled in a very short period of time, one of such examples being the total national expenditure on education in Delhi, according to the Economic survey of Delhi, 2016-17, has increased from rupees 46.4 billion to Rs. 103.28 billion in just four years. Another notable statistic is that in 2015, 34200000 students enrolled in approximately 48,116 colleges & institutions for pursuing higher education. The good engineering colleges in Hyderabad, Karnataka, etc. have been highly contributing to these numbers. Another thing that is worth noting in this sector is the traffic on Indians on the American e-learning websites. All this is happening because of factors other than mentioned above, as well. So, it will be simpler to understand if we break down the structure into smaller sections i.e. Primary/ Elementary education, Secondary education, Higher education, Vocationalisation of Secondary education, and then Rural or adult education. Technology is a growing field. The best B.Tech colleges in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana are providing a well-nourished education to the students.

So, let’s begin with the primary/ secondary education. Although there’s still a lot of children going to public schools, more and more people are trying to provide education in private schools, and yes, of course, there is a difference between the quality of education in the schools. This is basically and implication of the fact that the middle class is getting bigger and bigger in the country, which is freeing the government from the responsibility of providing primary education, one of the interesting data was that more than 50 percent of people from the slums is Hyderabad are sending their children to private schools. Which is partly because of the quality of education that is provided in public schools in India. Secondary education has also replicated the same numbers.

slum kid education

More and more students with primary education are now completing their secondary education as well, which again is expected as there are more people completing primary education now. Now when it comes to the higher education, the situation seems to be similar on the surface, although is not exactly very cheerful. Yes, the number of students enrolling in universities and colleges is increasing and in fact, India has become the country with the largest number of people pursuing higher education, it is not exactly the education that people are most eager about when going to the colleges, other reasons like job opportunities, and peer pressure has also become a driving force for doing the same.

One important factor that is expanding the higher education, but at the same time degrading the quality of education is the comparatively lower fees of such institutes. In a way, the higher education is making challenges for itself, by expanding. So, here are the three main challenges that Indian colleges are facing these days: first being the lack of passion in the research work that is being done in the colleges, as a result, the amount of research work coming out of the country is not in correlation with the number of undergraduates that it is producing. Of course, it the lack of interest can’t just be blamed on the students themselves, it is the lack of good faculty in almost all different tier colleges, which is a direct implication of the small fees that are required to do a degree.

The second challenge that the colleges are facing is the lack of flexibility in the courses, which again is due to the low funds, as offering more courses equals lesser students per faculty. Another common thing in an average-higher-education-age-person is the drive towards engineering or marketing courses regardless of their interests or hobbies, although this can also be because the last generation that they have seen had this idea of a better career associated with more money, which was definitely appropriate in their time, and engineering and marketing were considered these noble pursuits back then. Although now the country is in a transition phase. It’s not going to be like this forever though, Indian Government has plans to improve these particular things in upcoming years.

Life of an Engineer

$
0
0

The life of an engineer is tough. It all begins with succumbing to peer pressure and selecting the course or actually having a passion for the program (which makes you the subject of discussions, sighs, and confused glances!). And then you get to the stage of perpetual procrastination and regret. The regret of perhaps not checking the JoSAA 2018 eligibility before preparing for JEE Main.

As time passes, you start to understand how impossibly crazy the job market is, and probably give up on the thought of drudging at a per annum package job, and let go of all illusions of being successful, maybe. And no, it isn’t as dreadful as it sounds. It is actually pretty exciting (until your life has been sucked out of you after the third semester)!

Once settled, and have paid your fees to whichever university you are studying at, for example, having paid the pes university fees. You learn the knack of surviving the life of an engineer. And it is an acquired skill, so you spend the next four years of your life perfecting it. Because no matter how damaged and lamed the program’s name might have gotten, it is a great profession, and you have to figure out to how to survive it if you want to make something of yourself.

Disclaimer: This post is written keeping in mind you have a sense of humour. Try any of the guidelines at your own risk!

  1. Make that time-table and Procrastinate!

Procrastination is an art, and you have to go about it being scrupulous. Really put in the work! So, how this helps you is you end up prioritizing your tasks. The important ones to get done eventually, but a few tasks though, the unimportant ones, seem to magically go away. And you end up with a smaller share of the work (This guideline hasn’t been tried or tested on a real student, and is just the byproduct of wishful thinking).

  1. Play those games.

Life is depressing enough, if playing Dota or CS gets you happy, then go for it! You can study for the semester finals a week before the exams. A happy mind is a productive one.

  1. You don’t need sleep.

Sleep is for the weak. Stay awake, and talk about absolutely nothing of importance. You have a class in the morning? Well, you can sleep until the teacher catches you and throws you out.

  1. Eat what you find

Eating healthy is a folklore your parents cooked up to keep you alive. Eating whatever you may find in your room or your friend’s plate, or anything you can afford actually is what adulthood is all about.

  1. Xerox those notes

If you have followed all the guidelines, and the semester is about to end, then find the friend who has a shred of clearing the exams and Xerox their notes. It doesn’t matter that you will never be able to actually study them, just having the notes gives you the power of confidence to attempt the exam you are failing! And confidence is all you need (You need marks too, but confidence is all that is available to you right now).

That’s all the guidelines I can provide you with for today. Do leave comments below and tell us how you are surviving the daunting experience of becoming an engineer. And all jokes apart, it is a gruelling program, but if done efficiently, you might just survive.

News about AICTE scrapping 75% mandatory attendance rule in engineering colleges

There are some circulars being shared over social media that AICTE now removed the 75% attendance criteria for all engineering colleges. Well, students are certainly happy about this move. But we are sure that this is not possible as the circulars we received are the fake one which says as follows.

ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (A Statutory Body of the Govt. of India) Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi-110070
F.No. 10-1/AICTE/P&AP/MoU-AICTE/2018 Date: 17/01/2018
POLICY & ACADEMIC PLANNING BUREAU
CIRCULAR
To, All Directors/Principals of AICTE approved institutions Subject:- Scrapping of 75% Attendance Rule and introducing Vocational Projects Dear Sir/Madam,
You are aware about the growing unemployability of Engineering Graduates in our nation has become a serious issue for students as well as technical firms and companies based in India. According to latest statistics and data from National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and AICTE carried out in late 2017 about 57.43% of Engineering Graduates from various technical institutes across the nation remain unemployed due to lack of skill and continuous rote learning to clear the graduate level examination.
Moreover 75.93% of Engineering Graduates are unable to code in any of the programming languages even after basic programming courses being a mandatory in the AICTE approved curriculum during initial semesters of B.E./B.Tech Programme. Rote Learning and Cramming remains popular across the students of these institutions to clear examinations.
To address the declining employability of over 12 Lakh Engineering Graduates, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has decided to to scrap the 75% attendance rule w.e.f. 18/01/2018 due to inability of updating the syllabus on new technologies and advancements regularly. Students of B.E./B.Tech or equivalent programme have to submit a Vocational Project related to their Hobby or Subject each semester for a “Hands On” Experience to develop employability in various sectors of our Economy. Failure in submission of Vocational Projects each semester and 3 Mandatory Internships would result in refusal to issue the Equivalent Degree.
Institutes must make provisions to :-
•Avoid Plagiarism in Vocational Projects •Provide Internships to Students in/or before their Final Year •Upload/Preserve Vocational Projects till the Degree is Awarded
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) will be conducting workshops to make students and faculties aware about the latter for smooth transition towards the updated curriculum. Detailed Documents will be made available on www.mhrd.gov.in and aicte-india.org.
Directors/Principals are advised to make necessary arrangements in their institutions.
Prof. G.K. Gokhale Advisor Policy & Academic Planning Bureau.

So we had decided to contact AICTE regarding this and as expected this is another fake circular and AICTE also stated that they have decided to file a case in cybercrime due to this.
Students are expected not to believe this.
AICTE also issued a new notification on this which can be found here.

Official AICTE circular on scrapping 75% attendance rule can found below.

As VTU One time exit scheme students have their examinations in March-April 2017 weekends, VTU took precautionary measures to announce the results of exit scheme students as soon as possible.

It is expected that VTU will announce all results of one-time exit scheme students along with regular students and extra care is taken for timely announcement of VTU results.

Regarding VTU one time exit scheme:

Due to protests and media outrage, VTU had decided to provide exit scheme for VTU students in September 2017.
According to one-time exit scheme from VTU, students can go to next semester irrespective of backlogs, and they will be given examinations of odd semesters in March and April 2018 only if they are eligible or have less than four backlogs plus no critical subjects.
In case if students didn’t get eligibility, still they will be allowed to enter next even semester, but they won’t be given examinations until they get eligibility. This one-time exit scheme by VTU is widely accepted by VTU non-cbcs students and said to be helpful for more than 19,000 non-cbcs batch or 2010 batch students.

When will be examinations for VTU one time exit scheme students?

As we said, examinations would be conducted during the weekends of March and April 2018.
We don’t have any information whether the examinations will be held in morning sessions or evening sessions.

When will VTU announce the timetable for one-time exit scheme?

We are yet to hear on this from VTU, and we don’t have any information regarding the timetable yet. But we are expecting VTU to release the VTU one-time exit scheme timetable in the month of February second week, and we will upload it as soon as we get in our hands.
